Dr. Madelyne Salo, a Los Angeles native and second-generation dentist, co-founded Salo Manhattan Beach with her father, Dr. Dean Salo. After completing independent research at UCLA School of Dentistry, she attended the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, where she served as president of the Alpha Omega International Dental Society. Her expertise spans cosmetic dentistry, oral surgery, and endodontics, ensuring comprehensive care for patients of all ages. Her practice emphasizes cutting-edge technology and building strong, long-term patient relationships.
Believing that oral health is key to overall wellness, Dr. Madelyne prioritizes a holistic approach with thorough checkups for early issue detection, like oral cancer. Outside the office, she enjoys jewelry-making and stained-glass art and is an active member of professional organizations, including the ADA and Omicron Kappa Upsilon. She also volunteers in the community, educating children on the importance of dental care.
Dr. Dean Salo
Since launching his first private practice in Beverly Hills in 1992, Dr. Dean Salo has become a leader in the Los Angeles dental community, known for his expertise in cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitations. A UCLA and University of the Pacific graduate, he focuses on personalized, high-quality care in his multidisciplinary practices in Miracle Mile and South Bay, utilizing advanced technology like CT scans and lasers to enhance patient comfort. Dr. Salo also practices sedation dentistry at Cedars Sinai, where he supervises residents.
Dr. Salo holds Fellowships from the Misch Implant Institute and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, reflecting his skill in implants and complex surgical cases. He actively supports charitable organizations like the Concern Foundation and the National MS Society and resides in Beverly Hills with his wife and three children.
Dr. Eric Wu
Dr. Eric Wu, DMD, is a board-certified orthodontist at Manhattan Beach Dental Center, where he focuses on helping patients achieve their smile goals with top-quality care. He earned his bachelor's degree in chemistry from Pomona College, where he was inducted into the Sigma Xi and Phi Beta Kappa honor societies. Dr. Wu went on to earn his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD) from Harvard University, and later completed his specialty training in orthodontics at UCLA.
At Manhattan Beach Dental Center, Dr. Wu offers a full range of orthodontic services, including traditional braces and clear aligners, using safe, gentle techniques. He is also an instructor at UCLA’s School of Dentistry and an active member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Orthodontists, and California Dental Association, always seeking ways to enhance patient care.
Dr. Samantha Besser
Dr. Samantha Besser's warm smile and outgoing personality make an immediate impression, but she’s also a highly skilled former officer of the U.S. Air Force, where she served the dental needs of troops both at home and abroad. Dr. Besser earned her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine after completing her undergraduate studies at UC Santa Barbara, then entered private practice as a general dentist before pursuing her passion for endodontics.
After completing her Endodontic certification at the competitive USC School of Dentistry, Dr. Besser became a board-eligible endodontist. She uses the latest technology in her treatments, with a focus on patient comfort and thorough after-care. Known for her gentle demeanor, she puts even the most nervous patients at ease during procedures like root canals. A California native, Dr. Besser lives in Santa Monica with her husband, Sean.
Fletcher the Service Dog
